I am delighted to be a member of the Access Collective, founded by David Banes, previously of AbilityNet.

David recently moved to Qatar to further the work of access and inclusion and assistive technologies in the region. David has been incredibly busy since his move, particularly with setting up the Access Collective. It’s also supported by a great bunch of people, including Steve Lee of OATSoft and JISC OSS Watch.

With a monthly Podcast on a range of issues relevant to assistive technologies, a newsletter, VideoCasts and a Blog, the Access Collective has some great resources. A new feature of Access Collective is ‘Ask an Access Question’ which allows users to post questions to the members of the Collective. So if you have a burning question to ask about assistive technology you’re guaranteed to receive a well-informed reply from an experience team of dedicated professionals.

This week’ s podcast hightlights MyStudyBar, a floating toolbar to support literacy which has recieved thousands of downloads and made a huge impact in promoting inclusion worldwide.
