We were recently asked the question if it was possible to run the EduApps packages from the PC rather than a USB stick.
The quick answer to this is yes, though you may want to consider using the fully installable versions of the software if you're going to have them permanently on the PC.
To install an EduApps package onto a PC, simply copy over the three folders (don't copy the Launch or Autorun files) and place them in the root of your hard drive. For example, if you were copying LearnApps, you would end up with the following:
C:\LearnApps [folder]
C:\Documents [folder]
C:\Applications [folder]
The EduApps interface will NOT work if they're placed elsewhere (e.g. on your desktop).
The next step is to create a shortcut to the file that launches the LearnApps menu. If you want to place this shortcut on your desktop, then follow these steps:
1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select, New > Shortcut
2. Select the Asuite.exe file which you'll find in C:\LearnApps\Asuite.exe
3. Choose an appropriate name for the shortcut.
If you run into any problems, just add a post to this thread and I'll get back to you!
